Here Are My 6 Reasons Why You Need Couple's Therapy
Communication problems: Difficulty in communicating effectively and resolving conflicts is one of the most common reasons couples seek therapy.
Life transitions: Significant life changes such as the birth of a child, job loss, or the death of a loved one can be stressful and can put a strain on a relationship. Therapy can help couples navigate these changes and maintain a strong connection.
Intimacy issues: Couples may experience problems with physical and emotional intimacy, and therapy can help them address these challenges and find solutions.
Infidelity: Infidelity can cause significant emotional trauma to a relationship and may require therapy to help the couple rebuild trust and intimacy.
Differences in values and goals: Couples may have different values or goals, which can lead to disagreements and conflict. Therapy can help them find common ground and learn to compromise.
Mental health concerns: Mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, or addiction can strain a relationship and may require therapy for both individuals and the couple as a whole.
5 Reasons Why Couples Love Working With Keisha
How did you get into this type of work?I originally wanted to be a lawyer and practice family law. I've always been a solution focused type of person and driven by helping others. During college a professor of mine encouraged me to consider studying sociology instead of focusing on pre-law. That turned into me double majoring in sociology and social work. I thought I would go to law school after but I pivoted to therapy because I didn't feel comfortable with the politics in law and felt I could better serve the family system as a therapist.
When you are working, what is your ultimate goal with a customer/client?My goal is to help couples find their way back to each other through meaningful connections and developing wholeness in their relationship.
What kind of counseling do you specialize in?I specialize in couple's counseling; pre-marital, marriage, couples. I also offer individual therapy for mood disorder, spirituality matters, coping skills, etc.
What are 5 things that you feel set you apart from similar service providers.I endure with my clients to help them move to a place of living life on purpose. I teach them intentionality to reach their goals and the art of vulnerable communication. I'm a huge proponent of homework and it's one method I stand by to incorporate accountability for my clients.
